I am totally disappointed with this app on my iPhone 7plus. It shows the same Deb reading at varying levels of TV volumes !
Always displays between 48 and 52 db. Quiet room, kids yelling, it is all the same.
Just wasted $0.99 on this app. In a dead silent room it reads 44db. With the tv turned up until it hurts it reads 56db. Cant get to the developer to see if there is a fix for this.
When resetting, it freezes up. Uninstalling and reinstalling or powering off/on my phone seem to be the only ways to get it to start up again.
Doesnt work a waste of money
Have tried using on my iPad air2 and iPhone 6s+, but is way too inaccurate. Too bad. Interface is good......meter LEDs are good, but just does not read DBs accurately. Fix the inaccuracy issue and Ill change review to 5 stars
I have an iPhone 5, and it works great. I like the visuals on this app a lot.
App locks up on my iPhone 5 when phone display turns off. I have to reboot the iPhone 5 to get the app to restart.
Cant comment on accuracy, yet. But it only works from the first launch. If you go back to the springboard and run another app then try to launch db, it wont measure sound even after hitting start/stop. The only way to get it working again is to double tap home, kill the app, then relaunch it. Running a iPhone 5 with latest iOS. Update: 5 stars for being so responsive to fixing the home button bug. Wow. Thank you, developer for responding to feedback
The most reliable sound meter on the app store, and the only one that looks great on my iPad 3. Thanks for fixing that home screen bug so quickly, too!
Really nice interface. East to use, intuitive. Seems more accurate than any of the free meters I tried. Exactly what I was looking for.
I bought a couple of other apps from this dev, and theyve all been quite solid. Dev responds quickly to concerns and questions.
Values were way too low by 20-30db. Avoid this app.
I dont know what the other reviewer means. I have a Radio Shack SPL meter, and this app was right on target. Tested with both an iPhone 5, and an iPad 3. This app is one of the most accurate meters Ive seen.
I have a lot of audio apps, and this is one of the better that Ive seen. Its solid, yet simple.
Good results. Goes haywire sometimes, but overall good.
This db meter shows levels consistently 10-20 db below all the other db meter apps. I know it is inaccurate as it shows my Shopvac at 65 db, which is at least 20 db below what I know it to be.
Compared with my Radio Shack meter, the results are quite consistent. There is some issue with the extremely high registers (like > 110 dB), but that is probably to be expected given the poor mobile phone mics. This db meter produces more consistent results than the other dB meter apps that Ive seen. For normal day-to-day use, I highly recommend this one.
Stuck on 38.4 the whole time no matter what I do if I configure the db number changes to whatever I add to it.
